A post of a Japanese mother wishing for a world without adult entertainment, garnered attention on social media and generated discussion which elicited reactions from Japanese adult film stars who presented different takes on the industry and the notion of being able to choose a profession.

The issue was initiated by a concerned mother stating she would like to see every girl in Japan stay away from adult, nighttime entertainment jobs, and sugar dating.

While the mother seems to suggest that none of such jobs should exist, others working in the field brought to the discussion that it is important to consider the reasons people choose to work in this sphere before expressing a desire for it to be eliminated.
